References, background checks, and process integrity
Keep resume facts consistent, prepare references with consent, correct genuine errors, and follow clear boundaries for documents and assistance tools.

Suggested practice time: 25 minutes, separate from reading.
Final stages are not merely formalities. Inconsistent dates, titles, unsupported claims, or an unprepared reference can damage trust. Align facts, evidence, and consent rather than managing an invented narrative.
1. Audit your resume before interviews
Check line by line:
- Start and end dates
- Full-time, part-time, project, or internship status
- Official and explanatory titles
- Qualifications and graduation status
- Figures, percentages, and contribution
- Tools and actual skill level
- Company and product names, and confidentiality
If an official title is vague, explain it: "Operations specialist, focusing on data analysis." Do not invent seniority.
2. Choose appropriate references
A useful reference has observed your work directly and can offer specific examples. Besides managers, a project supervisor, senior colleague, client, or teacher may fit the employer's requirements and relationship.
Obtain permission before sharing contact details. Provide:
- Company and role
- Relevant connection to your experience
- Current process stage
- The resume the employer saw
- Likely contact timing
Refresh context; never ask for a fabricated story.
3. Protect current-employer contact
A reasonable request is:
"My current employer does not know I am searching. Please do not contact them without coordinating with me. I can provide previous references now and discuss current-employment confirmation after a conditional offer."
Clarify scope, timing, and consent. Send sensitive documents only through official channels at the necessary stage.
4. Correct real errors early
"My resume lists Farvardin as the end month; the correct month is Esfand. I have attached a corrected copy to avoid confusion."
A small early correction is preferable to a late defense. Prepare a concise, documented explanation for title or company-structure differences.
Audit ResumeYek versions
In My resumes, find the original, translated, or job-specific version sent to this employer. Dates, titles, and achievement facts must agree across versions even if emphasis differs. Related versions are independently editable: correcting one does not correct them all. Save each required version, export corrected PDFs, and send a brief explanation to the coordinator where needed. Editing a resume does not change a previously sent PDF automatically.
Provide references and background documents separately through an agreed channel. Do not put another person's contact details in a public resume without consent. ResumeYek does not contact references or perform employment background checks.
5. AI and other assistance
AI can support practice, editing, and question generation, but must not invent experience, figures, or knowledge. For assessment projects, ask the policy and disclose permitted use and scope.
Clarify live-session policies on notes, assistants, and recording beforehand. Do not pass hidden generated answers off as personal knowledge or put confidential company material into external tools. Recording your own practice differs from recording others in a real interview; check consent and local requirements for the latter.
Defensibility rule: You should be able to explain, critique, and revise every line submitted under your name. If a tool created an answer whose reasoning you cannot understand, it does not yet demonstrate your skill.
Final credibility checklist
- Resume, profiles, and application agree.
- Every figure has a source or explainable estimation method.
- References have consented and received context.
- Current employer will not be contacted without permission.
- Sensitive documents go only through trusted channels.
- Tool use is permitted and defensible.
